Jay Adolf serves as of counsel to Bolton-St. Johns, working with the firm to represent clients on matters involving the City of New York, public authorities and corporations, and state legislative and regulatory matters.
Jay began his legal career as an assistant corporation counsel in the law department of the City of New York. He subsequently entered private practice, forming his own firm specializing in litigation. In 1975, he became an associate counsel to the Speaker of the New York State Assembly. He remained in the Assembly until 1992, serving as counsel to three successive Speakers.
In his last Assembly position, Jay served as Executive Counsel to the Speaker, and was principal negotiator, strategist and policy director in several areas, including economic development, financial services, tourism, sports and the arts, health and human services, and civil practice.
Jay Adolf previously headed his own consulting firm that advised the state's largest health care union, several insurance entities, and diverse not-for-profit organizations. He also helped launch a new company engaged in medical risk evaluation.
Jay received his law degree from New York University's School of Law and his Bachelor's Degree in economics from Colby College.
