Albany Update May 19, 2006
Bolton-St. Johns is pleased to announce that two new lobbyists have joined our firm. Please join us in welcoming Vincent Marrone and John Wright.
Vincent Marrone
Vincent Marrone is a Public Policy and Government Relations specialist with over 20 years of experience in Albany, Washington and New York City. Vincent has an extensive background in community organizing and advocacy, working both inside the government as well as with corporations and not-for-profit entities. As former Director of Government Relations and Strategic Planning for the AIDS Institute of the New York State Department of Health, Vincent managed education and advocacy for policy and funding issues in Albany and Washington.
Vincent Marrone served as Director of Public Policy for the Lindesmith Center, a drug-policy think tank. Additionally, Vincent advocated on drug-related public policy issues for the Research and Policy Reform Center, Inc., working with lobbyists and elected officials on matters pending in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Washington.
As Senior Legislative Assistant to the New York State Assembly Committee on Health Care, Vincent served as an advisor on a wide-range of policy areas including: HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, legal drugs, tobacco, and life and law issues. Additionally, Vincent was the Director of Government Relations at the After School Corporation, a public foundation supported by the Open Society Institute to expand the quantity and quality of after-school programs in New York State.
Prior to his employment with Bolton-St. Johns, Vincent founded Public Strategies, LLC, a governmental relations, strategic planning and lobbying firm in New York City, serving a variety of not- for- profit clients. He is a graduate of Cornell University.
John Wright
John Wright, with over two decades of experience in human service organizations, is a recognized expert in the field. He has a rich background in non-profit management, government relations, program design implementation and specializes in building collaborations between not- for- profit organizations, as well as philanthropic groups.
John has lobbied on behalf of a wide variety of public and private advisory entities including: the New York City HIV planning Council, the New York City and State HIV Prevention Planning Group, the Statewide AIDS Service Delivery Consortia, the New York City AIDS Fund, the National Coalition on Youth Policy, Black Administrators in Child Welfare and the Times Square Business Improvement District.
John Wright served as Executive Director of the Educational Development Organization, Clearpool, Inc., Director of Operations for the After School Corporation and Assistant Executive Director for the Center for Children and Families/Safespace, Inc. Additionally, John was the Assistant Executive Director of New York City’s oldest African-American run child welfare agency, the Harlem Dowling-Westside Center.
Prior to joining Bolton-St. John’s, John was a partner at Public Strategies, LLC, a full-service government relation firm in New York City. John Wright received his Bachelor's Degree from Niagara University and a Master's Degree in Non-Profit Management from New School University in New York City.
