Bill McCarthy

Since joining Bolton-St. Johns in the fall of 2002, Bill McCarthy has focused much of his attention on legislation and economic development that brings growth to the firm's clients.He has worked on legislation involving real property tax and state finance law and on numerous proposals affecting energy policy.

Bill’s prior experience includes seven years with the New York State Legislature and 18 years in the food service industry, where he served as Account Executive for two of his company's top food service lines. He was also responsible for introducing new products to the market in upstate and Western New York, and for developing training programs and marketing strategies for multiple New York State distributors.

In addition Bill has served as Director of Government Relations for a private technology company; fiscal analyst for the Legislative Bill Drafting Commission; Assistant Index Clerk for the New York State Assembly; and Legislative Research Analyst for the Joint Legislative Task Force on Racing and Wagering.

Bill is a graduate of Siena College with a Bachelor's of Science in Finance. He holds a MBA from the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
